A leading national law firm is seeking a talented Competition & Consumer Associate to join its highly regarded practice in Melbourne or Sydney. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to develop deep expertise in competition, consumer, and regulatory law while working on complex, high-impact matters.
The team advises major corporates, regulators, and government bodies on strategic competition and consumer issues, including merger clearances, regulatory investigations, enforcement action, and compliance frameworks. You will work closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers who are recognised leaders in the C&C space.
The Opportunity
Role
This role is suited to an Associate with 3–6 years’ post-admission experience in competition and consumer law, regulatory, or complex litigation. You will gain exposure to a broad range of matters, including:
- Merger clearance and authorisation applications
- ACCC and regulatory investigations and enforcement action
- Misleading or deceptive conduct and consumer protection matters
- Cartel conduct, market power, and anti-competitive behaviour
- Competition aspects of M&A and joint ventures
- Consumer law compliance programs and advisory work
- Regulatory litigation and administrative law matters

- Experience dealing with the ACCC or other regulators (highly regarded)
