Our client, Goldfields Community Legal Centre Inc. (GCLC), is seeking both Junior and Senior Lawyers to join its dedicated, multidisciplinary team in Kalgoorlie.

What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the Principal Lawyer, you will work as part of a professional, multidisciplinary team delivering legal assistance services across the region.
As part of a committed not-for-profit community legal centre, your work will include advice and casework, court representation, community legal education and contributions to law reform and systemic advocacy.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing legal advice, casework and representation across a range of matters
Conducting court appearances, including family law and restraining order matters
Contributing to client intake and triage processes
Supporting systemic advocacy, law reform initiatives and community legal education
Building and maintaining strong relationships with community organisations, government and key stakeholders
What You’ll Bring
GCLC is open to graduate, junior and senior lawyers, with flexibility to accommodate varying levels of experience and practice backgrounds. Most importantly, you will bring a positive attitude, a strong client focus and a willingness to learn.
You will ideally have:
Experience providing legal advice and casework
Ability to conduct matters before the courts
Commitment to delivering client-centred legal services
Strong organisational and administrative skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work sensitively with vulnerable clients, including First Nations people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (highly regarded)
Current WA driver’s licence and National Police Clearance
Willingness to obtain Working With Children Check
Current or able to obtain practicing certificate
While GCLC values broad legal experience, familiarity with family law, restraining orders and family and domestic violence matters will be well regarded.
