Clear Tax Accountants, a multi-award winning advisory and accounting firm based in Point Cook, is introducing a dedicated in-house legal function as part of its next phase of growth. This is not a replacement role. This is a newly created position designed to embed legal advisory directly within a commercially focused, growth driven professional services business.
Unlike traditional legal environments, Clear Tax operates at the intersection of tax strategy, structuring, asset protection, and commercial advisory. Legal expertise plays a critical role in shaping client outcomes, and this role has been created to become a central, visible, and influential part of that process.
This is not a conventional law firm role.
This is an opportunity to help shape and build a legal capability within an established advisory business.
For the right practitioner, this position offers autonomy, variety, and the ability to contribute strategically rather than operating within rigid practice structures.
THE ROLE
As the Solicitor / Lawyer, you will become the firm’s dedicated internal legal adviser, supporting clients and advisory teams across estate planning, structuring, and commercial matters where legal decisions directly influence financial and strategic outcomes.
You will independently manage legal engagements, provide practical guidance, and draft high quality documentation aligned with broader client strategies developed within the business.

- Estate planning and succession strategies
- Wills and related advisory documentation
- Trust and structuring matters
- Shareholder and ownership agreements
- Commercial legal drafting
Future scope may expand depending on capability and interest, including potential involvement in conveyancing matters.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Independently manage client files and legal engagements
- Advise clients on estate planning, structuring, and asset protection matters
- Draft wills, trusts, and associated legal documentation
- Prepare and review shareholder and commercial agreements
- Provide practical, commercially grounded legal guidance
- Collaborate closely with accounting and advisory professionals
- Maintain exceptional client communication and service standards
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the firm’s legal capability

Requirements
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD)
- Practical Legal Training (PLT) completed
- Admitted as a Lawyer or Solicitor in Australia
- Eligible to hold or currently holding an Australian practising certificate
- Eligibility for independent practice without supervision restrictions
- Strong drafting skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication and client engagement capability
- Ability to work collaboratively with accountants, advisers, and clients
- Commercial awareness and practical, solutions focused thinking
- Confidence operating autonomously
DESIRABLE
- Experience in estate planning or succession related matters
- Exposure to trusts, structuring, or asset protection strategies
- Commercial drafting or advisory experience
- Interest in working within a non-traditional legal environment
