Description
An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Junior Criminal Lawyer (1-3 PAE) to join a well-established boutique CBD firm known for its high-quality criminal practice.This role is ideal for a lawyer with experience in criminal law and a genuine interest in developing their career in this area.
You will be involved in high-quality criminal matters, enjoy regular court appearances, and receive direct training and mentorship from the Principal Lawyer and senior staff.
For the right candidate, there is also a genuine opportunity to broaden your litigation skillset through structured training and mentorship from the Principal Lawyer in selected civil matters.

You will be hands-on from day one, with responsibility supported by strong supervision:
- Running high-quality criminal matters end-to-end (with support where it counts)
- Advising clients in sensitive, high-pressure situations with discretion and confidence
- Regular court appearances, negotiations, and hands-on advocacy
- Managing key stakeholder and client relationships
- Exposure to civil litigation matters, with direct training from the Principal Lawyer
- Travel to regional courts as required (travel allowance provided)
- 1-3 years' post-admission experience with criminal law experience
- Genuinely passionate about criminal law
- Confident with regular court appearances
- Thrives in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment
- Able to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team
- Proactive, reliable, and willing to step in and support colleagues
- Curious to broaden your litigation skills through civil work, without losing your criminal focus
- Salary commensurate with experience
