Position Overview:
Reporting to the Head of Member & Employer Engagement, the primary objectives of this position are to manage the LIV’s relationship with the Regional and Suburban Law Associations, Diversity Law Associations and Employers to strengthen relationships, promote the value of LIV membership, support, services and products across all areas of the organisation.
The role will interact with the legal profession and LIV members across Victoria, with the incumbent being responsible for liaising with and understanding the needs of the profession, ascertaining stakeholder needs and directing clients into existing support, services and products that will meet their current and future needs.
The role also requires significant interaction across all LIV Business Units working with department General Managers to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes for members and for the LIV.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Implement an LIV Regional & Suburban Law Association (RSLA) Engagement Plan, including operational delivery, coordinating RSLA engagement across LIV business Units and maintaining an RSLA (rolling) Calendar of activities
Establish, build and maintain relationships with employers, leveraging established relationships with Regional and Suburban Law Associations across Victoria to support member retention initiatives & drive member growth
Manage and maintain relationship with Diversity Law Associations on behalf of the LIV to support engagement with practitioners
Ensuring appropriate insights from law associations is shared with key stakeholders within the LIV
Establish, build and maintain relationships with employers in regional and suburban locations with a focus on driving member retention and engagement
Identify and engage employers to act as PLT work placement hosts, in collaboration with ACAP as part of our broader employer engagement strategy
Consolidate Employer and member feedback and report regularly to the LIV CEO, Senior Leadership Team (SLT) Head of Member & Employer Engagement and all relevant internal stakeholders
Requirements
Essential:
- Proven experience in initiating, building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders (members, employers, universities, allied)
- Experience driving membership acquisition, retention and engagement strategies to deliver value
- Strong customer focus orientation
- Strong influencing and persuasion skills demonstrated together with excellent interpersonal, storytelling, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients
- Strong presentation skills
- Highly developed project management skills and financial experience including ability to plan, implement, follow-through and complete to deadlines.
- Ability to travel to regional Victoria to support engagement activities
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the legal profession, membership organisations and engagement strategies
- Background in the legal profession advantageous
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications highly desirable
