Company History
In 1967, Richard Pitman opened a legal practice in Glen Waverley, in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Over the years, he practised as an individual practitioner in conveyancing, wills and estates.
David Sharrock was admitted to legal practice in 1979 and has practised in suburban law practices in Melbourne, including as a partner at Moores Legal in Box Hill in the 1980's. His practice has always been Commercial, Commercial Litigation and 'Not for Profit' law.
In 1998, David was conducting a small commercial law practice from his home when he purchased Richard Pitman’s legal practice. Richard retired shortly thereafter.
The law practice continued in premises located in the retail precinct in Glen Waverley under the name ‘Sharrock Pitman Legal’. Initially, David was an individual practitioner, with two team members, one of whom being David’s spouse, Lynette (who continues today in an administrative role).
The customer base then comprised mums ‘n dads and anyone who ‘walked in the door’.
Today, our law practice has three Principal lawyers, namely David Sharrock, Andre Ong and Mitchell Zadow. The Managing Principal is David Sharrock.
Our law practice leases modern commercial premises adjacent to the very busy retail precinct in Glen Waverley.
We offer expert legal services in Business Law, Employment Law, Commercial Litigation, Property Law, Succession and Estate Planning, Wills and Estate Administration, Family Law, and legal work for Charities and 'Not for Profit' Organisations.
We are accredited by the Law Institute of Victoria as specialists in Business law (David Sharrock and Mitchell Zadow), Property law (Andre Ong), and Family law (Katharine Layne).
David Sharrock and Simon Matters are also a nationally accredited mediators.
Over the years, the primary focus of our law practice has been on assisting business people from the City of Monash (as well as the broader Melbourne area and even regional Victoria) with their legal needs.
