Associate / Senior Associate - Family Law

This is a strong next step for a family lawyer with 4+ years' PQE who wants quality work, genuine responsibility and a long-term career path. You'll join an established Melbourne family law practice within a full-service firm and step into a role with autonomy, client contact and room to grow. Salary: $150,000-$185,000 + super.

About the role

You'll provide family law advice across a busy and varied caseload.
You'll also:

• review relevant case law and legislative developments
• carry out legal research and analysis
• deliver timely, commercially sound and legally accurate advice
• manage files effectively and keep priorities moving
• build a strong understanding of client needs and objectives
• manage prospective client relationships
• contribute to your own ongoing professional development

This is a role for someone who wants to build, not just maintain, their career.


What you'll bring

This role will suit someone who is serious about family law and serious about building a successful long-term career in a supportive practice.

You will have:

• at least 4 years' PQE in family law
• the ability to run matters with a good level of autonomy
• strong attention to detail
• practical, client-focused problem solving skills
• strong legal research skills
• previous exposure to business development
• confidence building and managing client relationships
• sound commercial acumen
• clear, plain English communication
• a genuine interest in being part of a cohesive team
