An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Insurance Litigation Lawyer to join a highly regarded and established Hobart practice.

The opportunity is open across a broad level of experience. Whether you are a junior lawyer with 1+ year PAE looking to build your insurance litigation career, an established mid-level lawyer ready for greater responsibility, or a Senior Associate seeking a long-term opportunity in Hobart, we would be interested in speaking with you.

The team acts across a diverse range of defendant insurance matters and offers high-quality work, direct client exposure and the opportunity to develop within a supportive and experienced practice.

The Opportunity

Working alongside experienced insurance practitioners, you will advise insurers, employers, government and corporate clients across a broad range of contentious insurance matters.

Depending on your existing experience, your practice may include:

• workers compensation;
• personal injury claims;
• public and occupiers' liability;
• professional and general liability;
• medical negligence and health-related claims;
• insurance litigation and dispute resolution;
• advising insurers and insured clients on liability, quantum and strategy; and
• managing matters through negotiation, settlement and litigation.

For lawyers earlier in their career, the role provides the opportunity to develop strong technical foundations with the support of experienced senior practitioners.

More experienced lawyers will have the opportunity to manage their own files, work directly with key clients, supervise junior lawyers and take greater responsibility within the practice.

About You

We are interested in speaking with lawyers from 1 year PAE through to Senior Associate level.

Ideally, you will have experience in one or more of:

• defendant insurance litigation;
• workers compensation;
• personal injury;
• public or general liability;
• medical negligence; or
• broader insurance disputes.

You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, an ability to develop trusted client relationships and a practical, commercially focused approach to litigation.

Lawyers with relevant plaintiff-side experience who are interested in moving into defendant insurance work are also encouraged to enquire.
