Lawyer: Insurance (Defendant)

About the role:

There are multiple defendant insurance roles available across the following specialisations:

• Personal injury;
• Historical sexual abuse;
• Professional indemnity;
• Motor vehicle damage;
• Public liability claims; and
• Medical negligence.

You will be responsible for:

• Drafting advice, pleadings, evidence, correspondence and court documents.
• Liaising with insurers, insureds, experts, counsel and other key stakeholders.
• Attending conferences, mediations, settlement discussions and court events.
• Assisting with strategy, liability assessment, quantum issues and resolution of claims.
• Depending on your level of experience, take carriage of your own matters with support from senior practitioners.

The ideal candidate:

• 1-5+ PQE in insurance law, representing the defendant/insurer.
• Strong drafting, communication and file management skills.
• Practical, commercial and client-focused approach.
• Confidence managing competing deadlines and working across multiple matters.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Candidates with plaintiff insurance experience or general litigation experience are also welcome to apply.
