Description
As Principal Lawyer, you will lead and manage the firm's personal injury practice, with a primary focus on Transport Accident Commission (TAC), WorkCover, and related compensation matters. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of exceptional legal services to injured clients, maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct and compliance, and driving positive outcomes in complex and high-value claims. Working closely with the firm's lawyers, you will contribute to the strategic growth and direction of the practice, provide leadership and mentorship to solicitors and support staff, oversee case management and litigation strategy, and foster a client-centred culture that prioritises compassion, responsiveness, and excellence.
The role requires strong expertise in Victorian personal injury law, advocacy, stakeholder management, and practice leadership, with a commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for clients navigating the TAC and WorkCover schemes.
Requirements
- Admitted as an Australian Legal Practitioner.
- Hold, or be eligible to obtain, an unrestricted Australian practising certificate.
- Minimum 5 years' post-admission experience (PAE).
- Current Principal Practising Certificate, or eligibility to obtain one, will be highly regarded.
- Strong technical personal injury legal knowledge.
- Excellent legal drafting, negotiation and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership and people management capability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of professionalism, integrity and ethical practice.
- Ability to manage multiple matters while maintaining exceptional client service.
