Description
Ready to step into a role with genuine ownership, leadership and room to build something of your own?A well-established Melbourne boutique is looking to add an experienced Property Lawyer at Senior Associate or Special Counsel level to its growing team.
This is a particularly interesting opportunity for someone who has reached the point in their career where they want more than just a strong technical practice. You’ll work closely with the Property Partner as a genuine second-in-command, taking ownership of significant matters and client relationships while playing an important role in mentoring the wider team and helping shape the continued growth of the practice.
The work is varied and sophisticated, covering commercial property acquisitions and disposals, development, leasing, due diligence, property structuring, finance, title issues and broader property advisory work. Planning experience would be a bonus, particularly where it intersects with development and complex property matters.
What makes this role different:
- Genuine leadership opportunity — operate as a 2IC to the Property Partner with significant autonomy and influence.
- Build your own practice — access to an established client and referrer network, with genuine support to develop your own profile and relationships.
- A team-first culture — technical ability matters, but so does being approachable, low-ego, generous with your time and someone others genuinely enjoy working with.
The firm has deliberately created a culture that combines high-quality legal work with a genuinely sustainable approach to practice. There is a strong emphasis on collaboration, flexibility and trusting senior lawyers to manage their work professionally, rather than measuring success purely by hours.
This would suit someone who is technically strong, commercially minded and ready to have a real say in a Property practice, while still being the kind of lawyer who rolls up their sleeves and helps the people around them.
If you're a Senior Associate or Special Counsel in Property and the idea of stepping into a genuine leadership platform with the opportunity to build something of your own sounds appealing, I’d love to hear from you.
